LOGAN KELLY

Blind Light is a portrait that marks my first exploration with color in oil paint, and was created entirely without reference, allowing instinct to guide the process. The subject---a woman without eyes---stares hauntingly into the viewer, challenging the very idea of sight and perception. Despite the absence of eyes, her expression conveys an uncanny awareness, as though she sees through the 4th wall and into the viewer's soul. Her nudity, rather than suggesting weakness, exposes the raw vulnerability of lost vision while simultaneously asserting her inner strength. She stands as a quiet force, unseeing, yet all-knowing.

 

This piece is a reflection on intuition, presence, and the unseen power of the human spirit despite vulnerability.
