Look Out, Look Through is an experimental study exploring expression through gase and direction. Still new to gouache, I used this piece to challenge myself with a different painting approach. Rather than blending smoothly, I layered strokes on top of each other to build form, tone, and texture. The two isolated eyes, looking in a different direction, evokes a sense of observation and introspection, inviting the viewer to question what lies both within and beyond the page. This process helped me break from my usual technique and push my comfort zone in both style and medium.
